Quarterly Return Filing and Monthly Payment of Taxes (QRMP) Scheme under GST
Eligibility Criteria:
The QRMP Scheme is primarily targeted at taxpayers with an aggregate annual turnover of up to Rs. 5 crore.
Frequency of Return Filing:
Under the QRMP Scheme, eligible taxpayers file their GSTR-1 (outward supply details) and GSTR-3B (summary return) quarterly.
Monthly Payment of Taxes:
Taxpayers under the QRMP Scheme are required to pay taxes on a monthly basis using Form GST PMT-06. This includes a self-assessed tax liability after considering Input Tax Credit (ITC).
Due Dates for Monthly Payments:
Taxpayers under the QRMP Scheme need to pay taxes on a monthly basis by the 25th of the month succeeding the quarter. For example, for the April-June quarter, monthly payments are due by the 25th of July.
Quarterly Return Filing Dates:
Quarterly return (GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B) filing deadlines are as follows:
- Quarter 1 (April to June): By 31st July
- Quarter 2 (July to September): By 31st October
- Quarter 3 (October to December): By 31st January
- Quarter 4 (January to March): By 30th April
Payment Modalities:
The tax payment for each month can be made through Form GST PMT-06 on the GST portal.
Adjustment of Liability:
The taxpayer can adjust the liability for the first two months of the quarter while making monthly payments. The actual liability for the quarter can be adjusted at the time of filing the quarterly return.
Optional Opt-In:
The QRMP Scheme is optional, and eligible taxpayers can choose to opt-in or opt-out of the scheme.
